Gelar kehormatan Latin adalah frasa Bahasa Latin yang digunakan oleh universitas di Amerika Serikat untuk menandakan pembedaan level akademis dimana gelar akademis diperoleh.

Biasanya ada tiga jenis penghormatan Latin. Dalam urutan kehormatan meningkat, mereka adalah:

    * cum laude, berarti "dengan kehormatan" (secara harfiah "dengan pujian")—dibaca /kʊmˈlaʊdeɪ/ atau /kʊmˈlɔːdeɪ/.

    * magna cum laude, berarti "dengan kehormatan besar" (secara harfiah "dengan pujian besar")

    * summa cum laude, berarti "dengan kehormatan tertinggi" (secara harfiah "dengan pujian tertinggi")

Gelar keempat, egregia cum laude, "dengan kehormatan luar biasa", sekali-kali digunakan: gelar ini diciptakan untuk mengakui mahasiswa yang mendapatkan nilai rata-rata yang sama seperti yang disyaratkan summa, tetapi mendapatkannya ketika sedang menjalani kurikulum gelar yang lebih ketat.

Gelar yang jarang digunakan, maxima cum laude, "dengan kehormatan sangat besar", adalah gelar menengah antara summa dan magna. Gelar ini kadang digunakan ketika summa hanya boleh disematkan kepada mahasiswa dengan nilai akademik sempurna (4.0 / 4.0 GPA)

Gelar-gelar kehormatan tersebut diberikan kepada pelajar sarjana dan pascasarjana yang meraih pencapaian akademik yang berbeda. Kehormatan ini biasanya tertulis dalam ijazah. Umumnya perguruan tinggi yang memberikan gelar tersebut mempunyai aturan yang jelas mengenai persyaratan mendapat gelar kehormatan bersangkutan; entah nilai minimum, tesis tertulis, dan persyaratan lainnya.

Penggunaan gelar kehormatan latin ini untuk tingkat sarjana tidak begitu umum di dunia, meski umum dipakai di Indonesia, Filipina, Amerika Serikat dan sejumput negara lain. Penggunaannya dalam tingkat pascasarjana lebih umum di dunia, terutama tingkat doktor. Misalnya, Belanda menggunakan kehormatan Latin satu kelas untuk diploma Master.

Alternatif dari skema gelar kehormatan latin adalah klasifikasi gelar prasarjana Britania, digunakan luas (dengan beberapa variasi) di Britania Raya, Irlandia, dan Hong Kong.
